Attendance and absence

We are proud of our high attendance, which we hope means that the children enjoy coming to school! Time off for holidays during term time is subject to new regulations and parents are asked to seek permission for any absence in advance from Mrs Dunn as headteachers are not allowed to grant leave unless there are exceptional circumstances. Our Attendance Policy reflects the national and Hampshire guidelines, including information about what may be considered to be an ‘exceptional’ circumstance.

If parents remove their child/ren for an unauthorised period and it is the belief of the school and Local Authority that they have done this in a way as to avoid being issued a Penalty Notice, the Local Authority reserves the right to authorise the issuing of a Penalty Notice before the national threshold is met.

Reporting absence

If a child is away from school parents are required to inform the school on the first day of absence. If we don’t hear from you by 9.30am at the latest we will contact you by telephone to make sure your child is safe. We ask that all non-emergency medical and dental appointments are made outside of school hours.
