Wellbeing and Growth Mindset

The wellbeing of children and staff is fundamental to all our work at Heatherside.  We actively promote the 'Five Ways to Wellbeing' through a whole range of ways and work hard to support all aspects of children's development.

Some ways in which we are promoting wellbeing...

  • Through regular in school activities, within and beyond our PSHE and PE curriculum.
  • Actively helping children to be aware of the 'Five Ways' through homework and in school challenges and opportunities (See all the ideas below!)
  • Through our Wellbeing Ambassadors who work as a team to support each other and plan ways to help promote wellbeing across the school.
  • By encouraging a positive 'Growth Mindset'
  • As part our our assemblies, school charter and values.
  • In our Forest School
  • Taking part in community and charity events.
  • In school support from our ELSA and other staff.
  • Signposting to other agencies and working in partnership.
  • Wellbeing activities and challenges.

We have six long weeks ahead of us. Are you worried about how to fill your time and make it count? Then look no further… This summer, we challenge YOU to complete as many tasks on the attached sheet as you can! There are many choices;

  • From baking to swimming
  • From practising your times tables to relaxing in the sun
  • From helping with a chore to having a kitchen disco!

If you complete a row or a column, then you will get a House Point. If you complete the Bonus task, you will be given a Stamp. If you complete the whole grid, then not only will you receive a house point and a stamp, but also a special surprise! Please note, each box needs to be signed by an adult when the task has been completed. Please hand in the form to your new teacher September by Friday 6th September.
